Farmers Day 2017 has been played and won for another year. Many thanks to the 18 teams that entered, including teams from Brighton, New Norfolk, Derwent City, St John’s Park and Orford. The weather was ordinary but the day went off without a hitch.
Congratulations to the New Norfolk team of Tom Fowler, Denzil Ransley, Peter Maddox and Johnny Katt for their win at Sorell today. Tom’s team won $125 each plus a voucher each from Holt’s Mitre 10 Sorell.
Tom’s boys beat the Derwent City side of Peter Self, Peter and Ross Bannister, and Scott McKinlay in the play-off. Peter’s team won $75 each plus a voucher from Marshall Batteries Sorell.
Paul and Kathy Matthews, Shirley Hay and Faye Gardner (representing Sorell) won the play-off for third and vouchers from Coopers Automotive Sorell and Total Workwear.
Paul and ladies defeated the St John’s team Rodney and Janine Kirk, and Terry and Gail Cruise to come in third. Rodney’s team won wine donated by 9/11 Sorell.
Other prizes were donated by Rural Solutions Sorell, Wades Transport Nubeena, and Tazzy Tyres Sorell. Thanks to all our sponsors for helping make this such a good day.
